Losing or breaking your phone doesn’t mean you have to lose all your data, too–as long as you back it up first. Making sure we know how to regularly back up our Android phones in case the worst happens is an essential skill to have. Find out how to back up your valuable apps, contacts, messages, and more with just a few easy steps.
Backup to PC
A common way to back up all of your Android data is to connect it to a computer and copy all of the contents of your phone.

Copy all of the contents to a new folder on your computer. Select all of the folders on your Android device and drag them to a new folder on your computer. This will begin copying all of the data to your computer, including pictures, videos, app data, and more. Don’t disconnect your Android during the copy process.
Stick with Google
Giving Google permission to back up your stuff will vary slightly from phone to phone. In general, you’ll want to go to Settings > Backup & reset then tap Backup my data and Automatic restore.

Scroll until you find the “Accounts” option, then tap it. You’ll need to select the specific account to which you will back up your phone.

This will backup your device settings and preferences to your Google account. The Google account backup saves your contacts, calendars, app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and some basic phone settings. It will not backup photos and SMS messages.
Use third-part backup app
There are a variety of third party apps available that can backup your Android device. Some popular backup apps include Helium, Ultimate Backup, Titanium Backup, and Easy Backup & Restore.

If your Android device is full of precious photos and home videos, then it is important to know how to make sure your phone or tablet is backed up correctly, so if anything happens to the device, you at least still have all your irreplaceable photos and videos.
